Healthcare Vendor Policy

pdf SVM Healthcare Vendor Relations Policy

What is a Healthcare Vendor? It is a company that either produces or markets drugs, devices, nutritional products, or other medical products or services. In other words, an HCV is any company that makes something that can be sold for use on a veterinary patient. They include pharmaceutical companies, medical supply companies, and pet food companies. For example, Banfield and VCA are also HCV's because they are owned by Mars. Other examples include Merck, Purina, and Zoetis.

If you would like to invite a healthcare vendor to come to campus and speak to students regarding information about products, please submit a completed application to SAVMA.  Fill out the two documents below (Healthcare Vendor Speaker Application, Conflict of Interest Form) and submit them both to the Student Activities Treasurer, Mia Barbour, at [email protected].  Application guidelines are included with the HCV Speaker Application word document.

Non-Healthcare Vendor Policy

What is a Non-Healthcare Vendor? It is a vendor other than a company that produces or markets drugs, devices, nutritional products or other medical products or services. In other words, this is any company that is not an HCV, which includes hospitals, human insurance companies, networking avenues, and associations. Examples include VIN, SVVMA, Western Veterinary Partners, and individual speakers not associated or representing a company.

If you would like to invite a non-healthcare vendor to come to campus and speak to students regarding information about products, please submit a completed application to SAVMA.  Fill out the application below (Non-Healthcare Vendor Speaker Application) and submit it to the Student Activities Treasurer, Mia Barbour, at [email protected].  Application guidelines are included with the Non-HCV Speaker Application document.
