Suggestions & Concerns

Explore these links to find resources for individuals and clubs.

To submit concerns or suggestions to improve the student experience please use the SAVMA Representation Google Form that is open to all students. This will allow us to identify pervasive concerns among the student body and address them among ourselves and with the administration. These concerns can be for individual students (such as inflexibility in getting excused absences), for organizations (such as clubs struggling to fundraise or plan symposia), general problems with morale or wellness (such as feeling used by the school for publicity with no appreciation), or concerns with the system in place (such as using personal scrubs in the hospital as fourth years).

Please note that we will be looking for pervasive issues – meaning that we need to hear the same issue brought up by multiple people before we can address it (similar to how the class presidents handle challenges to exam questions). Along those lines, please take a moment to submit your concerns no matter how small – if it is a small concern that everyone has, it turns into a big concern. (Also please still submit your concerns about the examples used above so we can have a more complete picture.)

Also important to note is that your responses on this form will be the documents used to advocate for the students. This means we need a full history and explanation of the problem in formal language. “I couldn’t get the GI exam off” won’t cut it. We need “I am concerned with the inconsistency in excused absences because I was unable to be accommodated for the GI final for my sister’s wedding, but I know that StudentX already had an alternative exam date for her doctor’s appointment” (with details). While writing your name may add weight to your concerns, we understand that some people may feel uncomfortable sharing their identities at this time and you may remain anonymous if you choose. Regardless, we will never share your name without permission.
